Acuity, Inc. , recipient of Washington Business Journals Best Places to work for our fifth consecutive year, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience, knowledge and skills as a System Administrator.  This position is remote.

Acuity is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support a fast-paced DHS mission environment. This role works with senior engineers to streamline operations, improve monitoring and reporting, and assist with environment upgrades and deployments across multiple stages.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor systems and tickets; perform initial triage, resolution, and escalation. 
  • Execute routine patching, account administration, and backup/restore tasks. 
  • Assist with deployments in Dev/UAT/Pre-Prod/Prod following documented change records. 
  • Update runbooks, configuration baselines, inventories, and knowledge articles. 
  • Perform interface checks (web services/SFTP) and basic log analysis using Splunk and platform tools. 

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: BS in IT (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of system administration or DevSecOps experience.  
  • Technical Familiarity: 
  • RHEL/Windows Admin, JBoss or similar Java app server basics, MongoDB fundamentals, CI/CD usage (CloudBees/Maven), Ansible/Terraform basics, IIS/Apache, AD/Kerberos Splunk/log tooling, SFTP
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support skills.

Security & Clearance 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
