Acuity, Inc. is seeking a Solutions Architect responsible for the design, modernization, and migration of applications. Our client’s IT infrastructure includes a variety of platforms such as; state of the art DevSecOps, traditional on-prem, and enterprise-level Azure. You will be a technical subject matter expert on both cloud and on-premises infrastructure systems. You will apply your technical expertise in Microsoft cloud offerings to promote innovative solutions to our customers. Responsibilities

Manage the ARM templates to promote code through the environments.  Our new integration hub, which will tie everything together, is composed from lots of little individual pieces, all of which need to be managed and controlled.  

 

Other duties defined, but not limited to:

  • Plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure cloud IaaS and PaaS solutions
  • Lead the design and implementation of PaaS/IaaS services, construct and deployment methods including Database-as-a-Service, App Services, storage and automation
  • Implement PaaS and IaaS solutions in a public cloud platform such as Azure and/or AWS
  • Use Office 365 architecture experience to implement solutions with Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint Online, Flow, and Teams
  • Use knowledge of identity and access management (on-prem and cloud inclusive of Azure AD Connect, ADFS, and third-party identity providers
  • Define innovative solutions using concepts such as infrastructure-as-code, deployment orchestration, and automation templates
  • Remain current of regulatory and compliance requirements to drive successful governance strategies
  • Ability to educate and influence stakeholders and engineering teams on effective cloud solutions and best practices
  • Manage CI/CD infrastructure: Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, DevOpsServer, including patching and security updates on the infrastructure.
  • Develop and build scripts to automate product deployments, as well as test/QA

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, highly preferred
  • 6+ years of Infrastructure, Engineering & Consulting experience
  • 3+ years of relevant Microsoft Azure design, delivery and governance/best practices experience  
  • Strong background with enterprise infrastructure solutions, including enterprise directories, on-premises hosting platforms (vSphere/Hyper-V), and datacenter storage and networking
  • Capable of communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form
  • Experience and comfort with delivering technical design workshops for enterprise customers.
  • Knowledge of cloud system engineering principles and considerations
  • Experience in cloud architectures, including web, application, and database components
  • Strong understanding of multi-region environments and global connectivity requirements
  • Experience with migration readiness and planning tools (ex. Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery Planner)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation, including configuration management (Puppet, Chef, or PowerShell DSC) and infrastructure provisioning (ARM Templates or Terraform)
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell / CLI) for deployment and management on Azure
  • A strong desire for personal development and learning
  • Must be accomplished and able to work all system tiers i.e. database, middle tier, and front end
  • Design, develop and maintain automation framework for iterative software development and testing. Provide operational support, and develop solutions that provide monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities. Analyze software/system performance and mitigate bottlenecks
  • Deploy microservices-based containerized solutions. Maintain and improve CI/CD pipeline
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile and DevOps cultures and teams with a keen focus on process improvement and automation through internal and external collaboration
  • Hands-on experience with containers and container platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Pivotal Container Service, MesoSphere, etc. 
  • Must have hands-on experience working with database engines such as MySQL, SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra DB, Dynamo DB etc.
  • Hands-on experience building, designing, and deploying RESTful web services
  • Able to utilize multiple architecture paradigms and design patterns such as Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices, Resource Oriented Architecture etc.
  • Hands-on experience with build, code, configuration, and release automation tools such as Bosh, Jenkins, Visual Studio Team Services, Chef, Ansible etc.

Preferred skills:

  • Hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure and best practices; Azure and/or other cloud services 
  • Hands-on experience working on multiple OSes i.e. Windows, iOS, and Linux distributions (CentOS, Ubuntu etc.); Unix distributions 
  • Contribution to technical whitepapers, technical meetups, and user groups 
  • Research and development experience with a focus on creating proof of concept software systems and demos for client, conferences, and industry events

Clearance Requirements

  • Must have Active Secret (TS preferred) government clearance
