Overview

Acuity Inc. is growing! We are looking to staff Senior ServiceNow resources supporting one of our premier federal clients.

Acuity is focused on building cutting edge, functional applications for many government agencies. We are a team of “doers” with a bias towards action and have a proven track record of implementing innovative technology solutions to solve complex challenges. Our team believes in the importance of usability, user experience (UX), and design within our applications. We seek to break the stereotype of clunky government applications. We use modern design and project management tools such as rapid prototyping and agile development methodologies to build and customize solutions that are easy to use and effective at meeting their business objectives. We think of the applications we have developed as products and work to ship those products in months instead of years.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Automation Engineer with a proven track record in supporting air-gapped secure cloud environments. In this role, you'll be a driving force in designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions within our AWS infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of our ServiceNow deployment under strict security protocols.

Only candidates residing in DC, MD or VA will be considered per this government customer.

If you are passionate about using your skills in IT Modernization, Data Enablement, and Hyperautomation to make a positive impact, you might find a good fit at Acuity. We serve federal agencies as a trusted digital strategy and technology consulting firm, providing innovative technical leadership to support our customers’ critical missions.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture and Design: Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure cloud automation solutions within AWS, tailored to the unique constraints of air-gapped environments.
  • Automation Development: Develop automation scripts and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, etc.) to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and ServiceNow workflows.
  • Security Focus: Champion security-first principles in all automation activities, ensuring compliance with stringent security standards for air-gapped systems.
  • ServiceNow Integration: Automate and optimize ServiceNow operations within the air-gapped environment, including deployment, upgrades, custom integrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with security, infrastructure, and ServiceNow teams to understand requirements, align automation strategies, and provide expert guidance.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce manual errors, and drive continuous improvement within our secure cloud operations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience, with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Expertise with scripting languages (Python strongly preferred) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.)
  • Experience working within air-gapped environments and a strong understanding of their associated security constraints

Highly Desired:

  • AWS certifications (SysOps Associate, DevOps Pro, etc.)
  • Security-related certifications (CISSP, Security+)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow platform administration and development

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have active TS/SCI with Poly
