Cloud Developer

Acuity, Inc. seeks dynamic, self-motivated individuals with experience as a Cloud Developer. We are looking for an individual to compliment the team with Elasticsearch and other big data search and exploitation skills. The Client’s office manages a system that consists of multiple system to system interfaces, and multiple ETL pipelines. The Client requires specialized support in the development of these new Application Services.

What you’ll be doing: 

• Shall support transition of a Java/Springboot application, interfacing with an Elasticsearch data tier, to the next generation Python-based solution.
• Shall maintain the legacy search environment until such time that it can be retired.
• Shall provide new feature development as well as ongoing operations and maintenance of the next generation platform in coordination with an Agile Development team.
• Shall work within a dynamic Agile environment, supporting integration with multiple applications and representing development team in Technical Exchange meetings.

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated experience developing solutions with Elasticsearch.
• Demonstrated experience with development and support of Java/Springboot applications.
• Demonstrated experience developing solutions in Python.
• Demonstrated experience supporting multiple inter-related services.
• Demonstrated experience working with REST services.
• Demonstrated experience with AWS Services and Cloud-based development.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and maintaining the Cloud Infrastructure services such as EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, and VPC.
• Demonstrated experience working in an Agile (Sprint or Kanban) development environment.
• Demonstrated experience exhibiting analytical skills to assess customer requirements and create innovative solutions.
• Demonstrated experience exhibiting problem solving skills to include debugging and testing web applications.
• Demonstrated experience in design, such as design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Demonstrated experience in Systems Analysis, such as determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying technology gaps in current capabilities and processes.

Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with on-demand computing solutions such as Kubernetes or Lambda.
• Demonstrated experience with Big Data tools and environments containing structured and unstructured data.
• Demonstrated experience with monitoring and event management in AWS Services.
• Demonstrated experience creating and implementing automation for cloud platforms as well as monitoring and alerting.
• Demonstrated experience with authentication services.
• Demonstrated experience configuring Application Programming Interface Gateways.
• Demonstrated experience deploying applications into a managed cloud environment.
• Demonstrated experience configuring security features in a managed cloud environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing CI-CD (Continuous Integration – Continuous Delivery) pipelines through tools such as Cloud formation and JENKINS.
• Demonstrated experience in conveying technical information to non-technical individuals.
• Demonstrated experience with Springboot 2.79, Java 11.17, JPA, or Elasticsearch Java API Client.
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and problem solving issues related to development across multiple security boundaries including both secure and unsecure environments.
