Acuity is seeking a Full stack Developer to support a Flagship contract with the ability to Architect, design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products. This role would require the ability to master our development process, culture, and code base, then improve it. This role would be a hybrid role in our Herndon VA Office. Seeking experienced full stack engineer with 5+ years of professional experience to join the team developing cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, the candidate will work closely with product managers and designers to build innovative solutions hosted in the AWS cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products.
  • Master our development process, culture, and code base, then improve it
  • Six (6+ years) experience setting up and working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, especially AWS Lambda and other serverless technologies.
  • Operate optimally in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are encouraged to be able to craft and complete the vital work to ensure quality in their own code as well as other engineers.
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Spring, Spring boot and NoSQL databases, and a variety of AWS tools and services.
  • Experience with Front end Technologies Such as React and JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with Databases design (SQL, NoSQL) and analytics
  • Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience with Agile software development and test-driven development.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing web applications.
  • Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Proficiency with Node.js for back-end development.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, EKW, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS etc.)
  • Strong grasp of software design patterns, principles, and best practices.
  • Self-directed and passionate about staying up to date on the latest technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as lead teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and DevOps processes.
  • Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, or other NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Docker containerization.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1 and Section 508.
  • Experience designing and developing applications compliant with 508 accessibility guidelines.
  • Proficiency testing for and resolving accessibility issues.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and devices.
  • Knowledge of accessible UI design patterns.
  • Ability to write semantic HTML markup.
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools like aXe, WAVE, or Lighthouse.
  • Experience with Kubernetes pipelines and workflows using tools like Argo CD.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance.
