Overview

Acuity is seeking a Data Center Manager to support a large federal government agency. Employee will normally perform on-site, at a secure government location Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Must be willing and able to perform on-call after hours and on weekends within contractual response times to support system operations, maintenance, and sustainment.

 

Manager is required to be on site 5 days a week in Washington, DC.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the data center is adequate to support various customer system landings
  • Ensure Federal and industry Policies and Standards are being followed
  • Improve operational processes and documentation
  • Ability to develop long-term strategic maintenance plans and forecasts
  • Manages hardware installation, configuration, and optimization
  • Designs, implements, integrate, and provide full support for hardware in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment
  • Manages implementation and maintenance activities for computer system hardware and configurations
  • Extremely close management of Incidents, Problem tickets and Change Controls in a data center environment to reduce risk
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with asset tagging and the data center inventory management across multiple customers
  • Manages the integration of new technologies into the environment
  • Liaison with Information Systems Security Officer and Cybersecurity offices for compliance and reporting initiatives
  • Assist in the implementation of the required government policies and make recommendations on process tailoring
  • Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required or; a minimum five (5) years of experience in critical Data Center Management
  • Five (5) years of experience in network engineering. Engineering disciplines may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Data Center Management field
  • Experience in rack elevation diagrams
  • Configuration Management experience
  • The successful candidate will be expected to implement engineering solutions and assure operational stability, assure datacenter configuration management, maintain system
  • Experienced managing and coordinating the planning and implementation of data center services including network connectivity, placement of equipment, racks, power circuits, heat containment, and ensuring they adhere to operational standards
  • Experienced with site selection, budget planning, RFPs/SOWs, space planning, power allocation
  • Create block diagrams and rack elevation diagrams
  • Assure that all equipment is properly maintained
  • Support engineering review and documentation
  • Manage the implementation of new equipment
  • Manage project staffing for after-hours support and weekend activities as required
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements
  • Familiarity with Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program
  • Must be available for on-call support
  • Understanding of current Windows and UNIX operating systems, and VMware technology.
  • Experience with FISMA compliant Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation development, including:
  • System Security Plan (SSP)
  • Contingency and Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)
  • eAuthorization Risk Assessment
  • Business Impact Analysis
  • Security Categorization
  • NIST 800-53 Security Controls Review and Implementation
  • Ability to collaborate with high-level stakeholders, ISSOs, system owners, and technical SMEs to identify, develop, and document finding mitigations and POA&Ms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, professional demeanor, and accountability.

  • Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP®)
  • The Data Center Operations Manager (DCOM)
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+
  • DOD DIACAP

Clearance Requirement

  • Must have an Active DOD Top Secret clearance, verifiable in JPAS/DISS
