Acuity is looking for an Account Executive to support our growth initiative within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated goal-oriented go-getter and closer who is autonomous, organized, methodical, punctual, detail-oriented, a confident individual looking to lead the demand generation and direct sales in a defined account.




The Account Executive-DHS is primarily responsible for leading and managing the demand generation and direct sales on a defined account or territory.  This role requires the execution of the entire sales process from business development prospecting and qualifications through contract negotiations.  The Account Executive-DHS is also responsible for post-sales support to maximize revenue growth and increase market share.  The Account Executive-DHS must have relationships and a thorough understanding of the buying and procurement process for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.    


Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, this role is responsible for influencing and capturing both short and long-term revenue. This person will have had past and current experience, relationships and a thorough understanding of the federal procurement process for agencies such as USCIS, CBP, TSA, USCG, USAF and ICE.


As a proven and successful Account Executive-DHS you will be responsible for the following:

  • Execution of the entire sales process from opportunity identification and qualification through award.
  • Identifying existing and new Federal government contract vehicles that Acuity can leverage via new and existing partner relationships
  • Build relationships with key government stakeholders including CIOs, Program Teams, and Contracts/Acquisition staff to secure and finalize successful sales cycles.
  • Ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction with Acuity solutions by working in concert with our key partners such as; AWS, BMC, Cisco, Microsoft, ServiceNow, VMware.
  • Track opportunities in Acuity’s electronic tracking system.
  • Meet or exceed annual quota targets as required in support of corporate sales and revenue objectives.
  • Successfully map Acuity's services/solutions to agency demands and pain points.
  • Lead multiple complex, customer sales cycles and close them efficiently.
  • Attend market facing events, identify speaking engagements for Acuity’s subject matter experts.
  • Develop company presentations and present capabilities to prospective customers.
  • Follow U.S. Government procurement practices to meet sales objectives.
  • Actively participate in capture and proposal efforts, working closely with the VP of Capture and Operations.
  • Maintain a high degree of ethics and professionalism at all times.



  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related area and 3-5 years of hands-on Federal sales and business development experience.
  • Proven track record of selling and strong relationships working with federal financial services
  • Experience with complex sales cycles selling to business and IT executives at both the program and executive level.
  • Proficiency in the use of Salesforce or other similar tools.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. Government acquisition processes.
  • Knowledge of and sales experience with information technology applications, outsourcing, and infrastructure service offerings;
  • Solid understanding and experience building and winning work within multiple Federal Services contract vehicles;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several projects / priorities simultaneously; able to be hands-on as well as strategic.
  • Candidate will be based in the Washington DC Metro area (Virginia, DC, Maryland).

Clearance Requirements:

Additional Qualifications:

  • Sales awards or recognition as an Account Executive/Manager selling solutions and/or services.
  • Additional technical certifications that are industry related and relevant to our work
  • Understanding of Cloud Technology, Services and Solutions.
