Overview

Acuity, Inc. seeks to hire a dynamic, self-motivated Engineering SME to support client initiatives. 

 

As an Engineering SME, you will be providing on-going enhancement and maturing of the Architecture and Engineering program through execution of a variety of System Engineering priority activities. You will provide enterprise engineering technical based innovation support services utilizing a combination of foundational engineering capabilities (e.g., skills, methods, tools, knowledge, and processes) to perform work. These services leverage architecture and engineering capabilities to create defined outputs and/or facilitate defined Agile Project based target Architecture and Engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting the demands of Engineering tasks in accordance with meeting System Engineering life Cycle (SELC) standards.
  • Modeling processes and concepts through industry standard tools such as Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), Unified Modeling Language (UML), mind mapping, domain/test driven design.
  • Support the development of clearly articulated and detailed reference system engineering documentation
  • Interfacing with the software development and architecture teams to translate user requirements into system requirements
  • Providing reviews of systems to validate the implementation of security controls, access control evaluations, and implementation validation
  • Analyzing complex system requirements
  • Creating system visualizations
  • Developing use case and requirements documentation
  • Providing analysis and design of business systems for functional applications
  • Understanding system capabilities and how the capabilities can meet the client’s business objectives
  • Organizing and directing network installation(s) site surveys
  • Assessing and documenting current site network configuration and user requirements
  • Designing and optimizing network topologies
  • Directing and leading preparation of engineering plans and site installation technical design packages.

 

Other responsibilities to include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting customers in identifying and producing artifacts needed to provide evidence of control implementation for both traditional on-prem and cloud systems, and Dev/Sec/Ops pipelines
  • Preparation of drawings documenting configuration changes.
  • Preparation of site installation and test reports
  • Developing installation schedules
  • Coordinating and developing post installation operations and maintenance support plans
  • Supporting internal workshops, seminars, and discussion on key technology innovation topics (such as federal or industry standards, changes, and policies)
  • Responsible for creating, enhancing, and/or leveraging existing data to assist with decision making.
  • Interfacing with clients to define user requirements and to discuss issues, questions, and project status.
  • Validating that client’s requirements are met
  • Supporting IT Technical training, workshops, projects, and seminar related to IT prioritized topics.
  • Mobilizing network installation team
  • Analyzing data from existing internal system data sources (e.g., CMDB, scans, security controls, performance, infrastructure) to disseminate relevant information to appropriate stakeholders.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with experience in Information Science or a related Information Technology field
  • 5 – 10 years of system engineering experience applying System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) principle to complete a system from an end-to-end process
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps concepts
  • Experience or familiarity with Cloud concepts and services.

 Recommended Skills and Experience (not required…but desired):

  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Experience in developing requirements and technical documents
  • Able to take initiative, manage own workload, and assume responsibility for tasks
  • Able to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and meet internal and client deadlines

Required Clearance:

  • Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain government suitability
