Acuity is looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer/Architect to join a team focused on building cutting edge, custom and secure applications for a highly visible government agency. We are a team of “doers” with a bias towards action and have a proven track record of implementing innovative technology solutions to solve complex challenges within government. Seeking an individual who believes in the importance of learning new technologies and sharing them with your team and have an acute interest in using all appropriate tools, especially Cloud-based, to solve the problem at hand.  You will help drive next generation solutions for complex problems – using your technical innovation and deep mission understanding. Working with technologies such as machine learning, advanced encryption, self-scaling workloads, server-less computing, cyber security, and more, you will facilitate the incorporation of these capabilities in projects through implementation and nurturing of other team members. You will participate in all phases of the software lifecycle with an emphasis on architecture, design, quality and implementation. This role requires a self-sufficient, technical SME with great communication skills that is comfortable owning a range of technical initiatives across multiple projects, including the accountability for the technical precision and delivery of any solutions.

Responsibilities

We are looking for new talent to add to our growing DevOps and Agile Engineering team and are hiring for a Solutions Architect.  As Acuity expands and develops the software development practice, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team designing and developing mission-critical software. We are selecting a team to tackle the challenges of transitioning from legacy systems to creating new applications alongside our customers, allowing you to make real contributions. Our projects are built around a great user experience, developing software solutions that supports business process and workflows, analytical, data management and reporting capabilities for our customers. 

 

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer/Architect is responsible for the following; 

  • A solid understanding of native infrastructure deployment, as well as, full automation/integration standards and solutions.
  • Significant experience in delivering solutions that involve all phases of the software development lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy).
  • Participate in gate reviews and opportunity analysis; provide input into go/no-go decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience using infrastructure-as-code techniques to deploy environments through scripting and automation.
  • Substantial knowledge of inter-networking to build and scale environments that are secure, robust and resilient.
  • Experience as well solid understanding of the methods/benefits of integrating legacy on-Prem with cloud providers’ services.
  • Proven ability to lead teams of technical professionals towards solving project team goals.
  • Implementation experience of failover in using automation, transitioning services between regions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing, serving as a senior role model to illustrate how team chemistry is obtained and nurture team members.
  • Leverage experiences from solutions comprised of different vendor technologies to help guide/lead a team to build even more complex and diverse application for customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent degree, in computer science or related area of study (preferred)
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years IT related experience; specifically in a hardware solution and/or enterprise infrastructure environment
  • Must have demonstrated project management skills.
  • Must have direct hands-on experience in architecting and growing flexible, scalable, and highly available systems.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact and be involved with client negotiations and interfacing with senior management.
  • Must have experience leading and collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets.
  • Must have experience in DevOps, Continuous Delivery and ITIL concepts to lead an effective support operation.
  • Knowledge of Python, Powershell, Ruby, as well as automation tools

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the ATO process and implementation of security measures.
  • At least one of the following certifications: CISSP, CSSP, CCSK, CEH
  • VMware vSphere (vCenter, vSAN, ESXi, vRealizeOps)
  • Citrix Flexcast (XenApp and XenDesktop, Provisioning Services, Thin Printing, NetScaler AG; versions MPS 4.x, XenApp 5.x to 7.8),

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active DOD/DSS SECRET security clearance and the ability to obtain TS or higher
